Thales signs five-year plan with Hexagon for QA tech
Thales has appointed Hexagon as its strategic supplier of metrology equipment, software, services, and maintenance for all its EMEA divisions in a move to simplify procurement and standardise advanced measurement technologies.
Having already collaborated successfully on key programmes in France and Italy, Hexagon says that this new agreement paves the way for deeper cooperation to support Thales’ industrial transformation and scale-up goals.
The five-year technology partnership framework was announced during Paris Air Show 2025, and states the goals of standardising metrology technologies such as laser, LiDAR and touch measurement systems and intelligent automation to enhance throughput and agility amid growing production demands.
The agreement also looks to strengthening collaboration across Thales’ EMEA sites and teams, improving consistency, traceability and the ability to scale quality assurance with the same technologies, allowing them to assure quality repeatably.
““Thales’ mission-critical systems and deep tech innovations are experiencing high demand, driving the need to scale up production in EMEA,” said ”
“Delivering consistent quality systems globally is paramount for our customers, and working with Hexagon to align the operational processes in, and between, our sites will help us achieve this and also drive efficiency and sustainability as we scale.”
“This strategic partnership represents a major step forward in our relationship with Thales,” added Stephen Chadwick, president EMEA at Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. “By streamlining access to Hexagon’s advanced metrology solutions and local expertise, we’re empowering Thales teams across borders to meet their production ramp-up challenges with greater agility and confidence in quality from parts, to assembly, to delivery.”
