INSPECTION PLANNER – CMM Operator Software
Written by Verisurf
Verisurf’s INSPECTION PLANNER offers economical operator software for running DCC CMM programs created offline with the Verisurf CMM Programming and Inspection Suite.
INSPECTION PLANNER includes the minimum Verisurf base module, Verisurf CAD, plus the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI) for communicating with your CMM. This includes the Auto Inspect and Report Manager functionalities required to execute Verisurf CMM programs, and to output inspection reports of the results. Users of this system are able to be productive by using their CMM for inspecting product and avoid tying it up during programming.
The efficient workflow would take advantage of experienced programmers creating inspection jobs offline, then submitting a ready-to-go inspection program for execution on the CMM. This process is much like many shops run jobs on CNC machines, similarly programmed offline and then made available to shop personnel to load on the machine.
Programmers can import standard CAD file-formats including VDA, IGES, STEP, STL, Parasolid, and ACIS, plus native file formats including SolidWorks, SolidEdge, AutoCAD, Inventor, Spaceclaim, KeyCreator, and Rhino. Optional formats are CATIA, NX, and Creo. Models utilizing MBD (model-based definition)can offer direct use of embedded tolerances. Drawing-based tolerances are easily input for feature-based inspection.
Operators running INSPECTION PLANNER have complete, onscreen visual cues of the CMM path, measurements and tolerance compliance. Re-measure, or start from anywhere in the plan actions are available at any time.
